Many have asked me, “Does this cream really work?” “Have you tried this regimen? If so, how did you like it? Was it worth the expense?” and most of the time, I don’t have a response because those same questions that are asked of me, are questions I’m asking myself. Is the $100 neck and face cream really worth it, or can I get the same effect from a $20 cream? Does this tool really do what it says it will, or am I wasting my money and time? Is it that simple – a 2-n-1 product – or am I cheating myself and need to buy two full-size products to get the total effect?
Well, today on Style Cents, I’ll be detailing these five beauty secrets that are guaranteed to ensure a youthful look!
1) Drink water.
It’s proven that if you drink a liter of water each morning as soon as you get up, you would feel fuller and more energized all day long!
2) Whiten your teeth.
Who doesn’t love a bright white smile? Choose Crest White Strips or the Plus White kit – both can be found at your local drugstore – and start transforming your smile. Many say that the Crest White Strips make their teeth sensitive to cold and hot while administering the whitening process, so opt for the Plus White bleaching trays. Incorporate the teeth whitening regimen while you’re putting on your makeup, loading and unloading the dishwasher, or watching your weekly TV show. If you choose the Crest brand, make sure you visit Coupons.com. They usually have one for up to $7.00+ off.
Daily, women are using heat to style their hair and slowly (or quickly) it’s damaging your luscious locks. So weekly, I put an in-home deep conditioner on my hair and sleep in it. On Sunday night, I wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner, towel it dry and then put this product all over my damp, cleaned hair. I then roll my hair into a messy bun and head to bed. Usually I put a towel on my pillow, but you can wear a shower cap too. When I wake up in the morning – because I have very thick, coarse hair – I thoroughly rinse out the slept-in deep conditioner and then style. If your hair is thin and fine, you will want to wash it out with a little bit of shampoo, but DO NOT re-condition. It will make your hair really greasy and no one wants that! Use this treatment weekly and watch your hair transform! No need to go to the salon for those hot oil treatments any longer!
And a tip for teasing: Don’t go and buy one of those expensive teasing brushes. Spray a little bit of dry shampoo on your root, tease, and you’re sure to increase your root lift.
Scrub your hands daily, then moisturize. With the constant sloughing off of dead skin cells and replenishing the skin with a thick moisturizer, you’re preventing the inset of wrinkles. Same with the face; a brush like this will do the trick and help those (like me) battling with acne. I love this cleansing brush because it works so much better than the $100+ Clarsonic ones! Trust me….I’ve tried them all!
More than likely, you’re going to need one type of moisturizer for your hands and neck and another for your face. Again, like me, if you’re too battling acne, you’ll want to choose something that’s very lightweight, but will do the trick. I would stay away from any Suave brand because – although it’s very lightweight – I don’t think its quality is good for your hands and neck, but for a light facial moisturizer, it’s really great! Use a thicker substance for your neck and hands and moisturize two times a day for long-lasting results.
