Currently, this is one of my favorite cold weather outfits. It’s the perfect transition from venturing out in chilly weather to heading inside for a warm gathering with friends. Simply slip off the sweater, and you’re ready to go. It’s comfortable, cute, and cheap to boot! ;0) And, yes, the pun was intended!
I’ve had a long love affair with ponchos. I’m very open about how body/shape conscious I am with regard to myself and my clients, and ponchos are a great way to help to conceal – in my mind – what needs to be concealed. Everyone has features they feel are more flattering than others. I feel my legs are one of my most flattering features. My hips, paunch, and waistline – regardless of how many sits-up I do – are not in that category.
I feel carefree in this top. I’m not worrying about perpetually sucking “it” in or how the angle is hitting my area. I’m golden and happy, because it’s supposed to look this way. A word of caution: You never ever, ever, ever pair a poncho, cape, etc. with wide leg or extremely baggy jeans. It’s not a good look on any size and will only make you appear larger than you actually are. No one wants to be deemed “large and in charge,” but that’s the statement that comes to mind when I envision a poncho with wide leg jeans. It’s bad….oh, so bad.
Styling you Spectacular,
